KAJPNews _ Christmas Day (25th December) is believed by Christian people as a day of Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem. Therefore, every Christian people celebrate it each year and give welcome to Jesus Christ with any Christianity traditions all over the world.
In each church, even some Christian people’s house builds a Christmas Hut as symbol of a place where Jesus birth.
But some Christian people said Christmas this year is not same as the years before. Especially in Dogiyai, according to them, people in Dogiyai more concerned to regent election than Christmas. This condition is same with other region in Papua where hold head of regent election (like Puncak Jaya, Lanny Jaya, Kota Jayapura, Kabupaten Jayapura, Sarmi, Mappi, Tolikara, Kepulauan Yapen, Nduga, and Intan Jaya).
In social media like facebook, everyone has written ‘Merry Christmas’ on their status. Besides Christian people, from the other religion like Muslim also write about it.
Some Papuan said Christmas in Papua has been celebrated with sorrow circumstance, because some indigenous people Papua have been killed by Indonesian Military.
